Personal Insurance
We don't just sell individual policies for your home, auto, or motorcycle. Instead, we take the time to get to know you to better understand all of your insurance needs. For example, if you have a nanny, a maid, or an in-home nurse, you may be required by law to have Worker's Compensation coverage. If you have a teenage driver, a rental property, a pool, coach youth sports, or volunteer on a non-profit board, you may need a higher Umbrella limit. Once we help you determine all of your exposures, we then work to find the best way to cover them at the most affordable price. We can often consolidate your coverages with one carrier to maximize your account credits to help save you money.
Unlike most "one size fits all" carriers, we have access to a variety of not just different companies, but different types of companies. Below is a list of the four basic type of personal lines carriers:
- Standard Carriers - This would be companies like The Hartford, Travelers, Progressive, Safeco, and Harleysville that specialize in writing standard homes (typically homes under $1M) and standard autos (people with average to good claims and driving records).
- Non-standard Carriers - Like Progressive (yes they do both standard and non-standard) that are willing to write Auto policies for people with a history of claims or tickets and accidents that prevent them from getting coverage from the standard carriers.
- Non-admitted Carriers - These are companies that will write accounts that the standard and non-standard carriers will not due to things like claims, driving record, or property location (coastal or rural). These are companies of last resort that we only use when you can't be written by any of the admitted standard or non-standard carriers.
- High Net Worth or High Value Home Carriers - ACE Private Risk Services, AIG's Private Client Group, and Fireman's Fund all specialize in writing high value homes (typically homes over $1M). Their policies have all been custom written to better protect people with high value homes and high net worths. Their policies offer considerably broader coverage than the standard companies, higher limits, better claims service, and broader services (like thorough in home inspections and background checks for household employees).
We can help you determine which type of carrier is best for you. Below is a list of some of the types of policies we offer:
